Winterfest, possibly the most magical season this side of the Smokies, is upon us and we have some news and specials to share.

Tomorrow night, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, is the Chili Cook-off in downtown Gatlinburg! The entire downtown street, from Ripley’s Aquarium to Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Museum, will be shut down for entertainment, music and about a 1/3 of a mile of chili. This is the last week for the Sunset Festival!

We’ve had a great time this year as we have every year, but it’s we’re always a bit sad to see it go and have to wait for the next October for great food, great music, great fun and great views – simply because it’s October!

we’re fortunate that the colors have kind of held out as long as they have. It means the views for this Saturday’s (October 30th) Sunset Festival will be the optimal autumn experience as far as the Smoky Mountains becoming an incredible collection of dotted colors and no one else within 50 miles of us provides views as vast and majestic as we do. The sunset completes the circle and everything, for this little period of time at least, is right with the world. Perfect way for the Sunset Festival to go out!

Whereas most Festivals are continuous events that last for a few days, maybe more, the Sunset Festival at Deer Ridge is spread out to every Saturday night, 5-7PM in October and what it means is live bluegrass music, food, drinks and fun for all on the great big deck outside the management office. Watch the sun go down East Tennessee style!
